Stations
The seventh tab in your MinecraftEdu Teacher Menu is called "Stations", which are created by placing a "Teleport Block" and assigning a name for this location (or station).
Be careful with teleport stations as they can easily be destroyed when you are playing as a teacher.
To replace a destroyed station, simply place a new teleport block (found in your inventory, press "E") and name it.

Important features:
* To view or change a station's settings, "right-click" the teleport block.
* You can rename a station.
* You can open a station by clicking the eye to the right of each station name. You can also close a station by clicking the eye closed. Essentially, you are selecting whether students can access specific stations from the teleport block/station you are editing. Keep in mind that when you set up a teleport station, you should check these settings to ensure that students cannot get to areas that are restricted or belong to other classes.
* You can change specific settings on the teleport station block:
Teleport direction: Determines whether players who teleport here will appear North, South, West, or East of the teleport block.
Distance: Sets how far players will appear after teleporting to this station. Distance can be set 1-5 spaces away from the teleport block.
All Stations Visible: When enabled, ALL teleport stations will be visible to students from this particular teleport block; this can be helpful if you are creating a transit station or HOME block for all players in the gameworld.

For this experience, you will be creating an area or zone for your class to build and live within their Community. When you create a zone for your class, you will place a teleport block and name it to identify this zone within the gameworld. Keep in mind that this is an important task because it marks "your spot" that students will arrive at when they teleport to your zone. You might have several classes and wish to create zones for each one and each will require their own teleport block.
Useful tip: Place a "Home Block" for yourself near your class zones so that you can return there even if your teleport blocks are somehow destroyed. For more on "Home Blocks" and using them with your students, click here. |
Challenge: Log into the MinecrafEdu gameworld as a teacher and select an area to claim for your class(es). Place a teleport block and name it. Take a screenshot of the teleport station name and post it in the Givercraft Google Community. Let the other teachers know which zones you have created.
