Player Management
The fourth tab in your MinecraftEdu Teacher Menu is called Player Management. You can manage individual players or entire groups and this menu will be one of your most valuable tools during Givercraft. Important features include:
Search Players: You may search for players by simply typing their username or by using a teacher prefix (Thax, Roo, Sim, etc.) you can identify all players in a particular class or group. When there are large number of students in the game, the arrows to the right of the icons will help you scroll through the list of players; using the search bar can be more efficient at tracking down a specific player.
Student Username: By clicking on the student's icon and name, you can send a private chat message to a specific student, this message will show up in the chat but is only visible to you and the student.
Teleport Student to You: After locating a student's icon and name, you can teleport that student to you.
Teleport Yourself to Student: You can also teleport to a particular student wherever they are in the gameworld.
Freeze Student: Click this to prevent a student from moving, placing, or destroying blocks.
Mute Student: Click this to prevent a student from sending chat messages.
Player Gamemode: Click this option to enable a student to be in a specific gamemode regardless of the world or player settings.
Build Tools: Allow a student to use Build Tools.
Teleport All Students: Click this will bring all students in the gameworld to your location.
Freeze All Students: All students are not allowed to move, place blocks, or destroy blocks.
Mute All Sudents: All students are not allowed to send chat messages.
Challenge: Join a Givercraft Teacher Practice Session (Tuesdays at 6:00 pm AKDT) in the gameworld and practice using the player management tools. Another user will need to be playing as a student for you to practice your tools. Log in to the game as a teacher, using the teacher password that has been sent to you; take a screenshot or screencast/video of your experience using the players management tools on another player. Post this screenshot or screencast to the Givercraft Google Community and reflect on what you were able to do.
